The District 7-6A slate is only three games young, but already the Jesuit Dallas baseball team finds itself atop the standings.

The Rangers are out to a 3-0 start and have shown the ability to win in a variety of ways.

The bats took no time waking up for Jesuit’s opening series as the Rangers outscored Irving, 35-1, over a pair of wins.

On March 9, Jesuit needed just four innings to run-rule the Tigers in a 22-1 decision before completing the sweep Friday with a 13-0 margin in four innings.

In the 22-1 victory, Braxton Barber parked a leadoff homer to get things started before the Rangers poured it on with a 13-run second inning.

Jacob Martinez and Davis Montgomery each chipped in a pair of doubles, while Sebastian Lasa fired four no-hit innings with 10 strikeouts to earn the win.

Martinez earned the win on the bump in Game 2, firing four perfect innings with seven strikeouts.

At the plate, Brooks Kowal powered a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs.

The team then improved to 3-0 Tuesday by outlasting Richardson Pearce in a low-scoring extra-innings affair, 3-2.

Hudson Voss picked up his first win of the season in relief, throwing three scoreless innings with just one hit and six strikeouts. James Jorgensen was Jesuit’s starter, surrendering two runs (one earned) on two hits with 14 strikeouts.

The Rangers were patient at the plate to secure the go-ahead run, receiving walks to lead off the inning from Jorgensen and Roman Derichsweiler before Nate Iannariello delivered an RBI single plating Jorgensen.

Jesuit had previously gotten on the board with RBI singles in the fifth and sixth inning from Jorgensen and Charlie Wilson.

The Rangers will look to keep things rolling at home and complete a second 7-6A sweep at 7 p.m. Thursday at Wright Field.
