Local Soccer Powers Set to Open Playoffs 

The postseason for UIL boys and girls soccer programs is set to kick off this week, and teams from the Park Cities and Preston Hollow will be in action across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The postseason for UIL boys and girls soccer programs is set to kick off this week, and teams from the Park Cities and Preston Hollow will be in action across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In Class 6A, Jesuit will get things rolling in the Division II bracket when it squares off against South Grand Prairie at 6 p.m. Friday at Joy and Ralph Ellis Stadium in Irving. 

The Rangers (17-0-2, 12-0-2 in District 7-6A) enter as the top seed out of 7-6A, while the South Grand Prairie Warriors are runner-up from 8-6A. 

Jesuit, ranked seventh in 6A in the area by The Dallas Morning News, is coming off a 2025 season in which it advanced to the state semifinals before falling in penalties to Mesquite. 

The winner of Friday’s bi-district contest will advance to face the winner of the matchup between Flower Mound Marcus and Prosper. The Marcus Marauders are ranked second in the area.

In 5A, Highland Park will be represented on both the boys and girls sides. 

The Scots will square off against Frisco Liberty at 6 p.m. Friday at Murphy’s Kimbrough Stadium in the Division II bracket. The winner will advance to face the winner of the contest between Anna and Jacksonville. 

Liberty enters as the No. 6 team in the area in 5A, while the Scots are ranked eighth and are coming off a perfect postseason run in 2025.

The Lady Scots, meanwhile, are looking to improve upon a 2025 campaign in which they reached the regional semifinals. 

HP’s first step toward a potential state berth comes at 5:30 p.m. Friday against Frisco Heritage at Eagle-Mustang Stadium in Richardson. 

The Lady Scots (13-5-2, 10-4) are the runner-up out of 12-5A in the Division I bracket, while the Heritage Lady Coyotes are the top seed out of 11-5A. 

Friday’s winner will meet the winner between No. 5 Prosper Walnut Grove and Lake Pleasant. 

W.T. White’s girls in Dallas ISD are the top seed in the Division I bracket. They will take on North Mesquite Friday, while Hillcrest will take on Woodrow Wilson in the Division II bracket.

The Longhorns will face North Mesquite in boys action Friday, with Hillcrest drawing Wilson for its bi-district match Friday.
