There’s a storied list of golfers that have represented Jesuit Dallas on the links throughout the years, headlined by multiple-time PGA Tour major winner Jordan Spieth.

But even Spieth’s Ranger squads of years past were unable to match the success achieved by Jesuit in 2026.

The Rangers shot a two-day total of 604 (299-305) Monday and Tuesday at the Class 6A State Championships at White Bluff Resort in Lake Whitney to place fourth as a team – the highest finish at state in program history.

Jesuit just missed out on the medal stand, finishing one shot back of third-place Austin Lake Travis (303-300–603) with Austin Westlake (284-294–578) and Conroe The Woodlands (290-294–584) taking first and second, respectively.

“I’m so proud of the kids,” said Cathy Marino, Jesuit head coach. “It was our best finish ever, and we were a shot here or there from finishing even better and getting on the medal stand. When you think that we almost had a second team qualify for state as well, I think it’s probably the best postseason we’ve ever had.”

Marino noted the team overcame a slow start on the second round to rally and finish fourth, and received strong showings from throughout the lineup.

Jonah Fahrenbruch was Jesuit’s top performer in a tie for eighth (71-74–145) and was just two shots off the pace of second-place Daniel Trousdale of Tomball (70-73–143) and three shots back of first-place finisher Henry Talarico of Austin Westlake (70-72–142).

“He was just outstanding all week,” Marino said of Fahrenbruch.

Rounding out Jesuit’s competitors in Lake Whitney were Spencer Carter (73-76–149), Jack Brown (76-80–156), Alex Murray (79-78–157), and George Weeldreyer (81-77–158).

Marino is also hopeful of Jesuit’s prospects moving forward with three state competitors due back next year as well as four returners from Jesuit’s second team.

“We have some strong freshmen as well,” she said. “It’s an exciting time for us.”
