A first-place showdown didn’t materialize on the field Friday as state-ranked Allen ran away from Prosper in a District 6-6A clash.

No. 3 Allen (8-0, 5-0 in 6-6A) scored early and often and never looked back, topping the Rangers (4-4, 3-2), 77-14.

Allen led, 21-0, just 6:10 into the game and carried a 49-7 advantage to the break.

Allen quarterback Ty Snell completed 16-of-19 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns to go with 96 yards rushing and three scores on just four carries before exiting early in the third quarter.

But the Eagle offense didn’t let up, with KP Jackson and Julian Jackson powering the rushing attack over the final two quarters.

The former gained 86 yards on six carries with two scores, while the latter had a 69-yard touchdown run.

Josyah Johnson, meanwhile, opened the scoring with a 36-yard touchdown reception and paced all receivers with five receptions and 100 yards.

Allen outgained Jesuit in the opening half, 342-85, and took advantage of three Jesuit turnovers while also playing with short fields for much of the opening two quarters.

The Eagles had an average starting position at the plus-43 for its first three drives and turned all three possessions into touchdowns, taking advantage of a failed onside kick to open the game, a three-and-out and a 19-yard Jesuit punt.

Later in the half, Allen recorded three interceptions paving the way to three additional touchdowns.

Jesuit, meanwhile, was finally able to break through with a 2-yard touchdown run by Daboub with 4:54 remaining in the second quarter, but even that was answered by an 18-yard scoring run by Snell for the halftime margin.

The Rangers also saw backup quarterback JR Kamara move the ball effectively in the second half, completing 9-of-15 passes for 102 yards, including a touchdown pass to Reece Barnicle.

Allen will look to keep rolling at 7 p.m. Friday at McKinney Boyd, while Jesuit hopes to bounce back and continue its playoff pursuit at the same day and time at home against McKinney.
