DALLAS – Prosper’s offense has had no problem piling up yardage in 2026.
But on Friday in Dallas, the Eagles posted their most prolific performance yet.
Prosper gained a season-high 637 yards and also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in a 54-31 victory over Jesuit Dallas.
It was the sixth time in seven games Prosper has gained at least 500 yards of offense.
The win draws Prosper (6-1, 3-1 in District 6-6A) even with Jesuit (4-3, 3-1) in the district race with both teams trailing first-place Allen by one game.
The Rangers remained within striking distance throughout the night, but faced a deficit they couldn’t overcome late in the third quarter when Prosper answered a touchdown reception by Ty Daboub with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and 48-31 advantage heading to the fourth.
“We just had too many mistakes and they have a good football team,” said Brandon Hickman, Jesuit head coach. “We have to do a better job of limiting the mistakes. I thought up front, we got beat a couple times, but overall, I thought the kids played hard and gave a good effort. We have to be able to bounce back next week.”
Jesuit went to the half trailing, 35-24, following a high-octane first half.
Joseph Konings and Max Smith each answered Prosper scores with touchdown receptions from quarterback J.P. Livingstone.
Later, the Rangers grabbed the momentum heading to the break when Livingstone found Konings for a 37-yard touchdown pass as time expired in the second quarter.
But Prosper struck first in the third quarter before taking control later in the period on the big return by Vance Ozenne.
“It really hurt because we had them pinned down and it was a 10-point game,” Hickman said. “We scored a lot of points in the first half, but we kind of sputtered a bit in the second half. I think we got out of rhythm a little and probably started pressing a little bit, too, when we got down by 17. You can’t always press it and have to trust it.”
For the game, Livingstone finished 26-of-44 for 260 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions, while Daboub had 14 rushes for 79 yards and eight receptions for 50 yards and a score.
Konings, meanwhile, posted six receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns and Smith had four grabs for 71 yards.
Jesuit will likely need similar offensive production Friday when they go on the road to take on No. 2 Allen.
“It’s another top-five team, but we were right there with the No. 9 team in the state tonight,” Hickman said. “And now we have to get ready for another big challenge and we’re going to be ready to accept it.”
