Good on this employee from Bank of America on Hillcrest Avenue: A customer attempted to open a checking account on March 12, but the employee immediately recognized the customer's information - his drivers license and a debit card - as forged. The employee i called the police, and the customer fled the bank on foot. Police tracked him down, eventually, and took him into custody.

A woman who claimed she "simply doesn't like police" led officers on a chase from Highland Park to Frisco overnight on Monday.

A 57-year-old Highland Park woman just can’t escape the ghosts of her old license plates. At 3 p.m. on Jan. 14, she reported that plates stolen off of her vehicle back in October had been recently flagged by police in a different jurisdiction for violating traffic laws.

Thieves are getting smarter. At 11:43 a.m. on January 12 in the parking lot of Fast Frames on Preston Road, a victim’s purse was robbed from a parked vehicle. It took the victim a while to realize she had been robbed, however, because the thief left the purse and stole only the credit cards. No damage had been done to the vehicle, either.

How bad does your dandruff have to be to steal 28 bottles of Head and Shoulders shampoo? Such a theft occurred at 3:34 p.m. Jan. 7 when a shoplifter left the CVS located at the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane with $268.52 worth of product.

After crashing her Chevrolet Sonic at the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Douglas Avenue, a 38-year-old Dallas woman abandoned the vehicle and took off by foot. Why? She had several alcoholic drinks during pizza with friends, she told police around 9:28 p.m.
