Today we present to you “Things That Have Been Ruined Snowpocalypse 2011”

1. Yes, classes at all HPISD schools have been canceled, so your lovely brood will be driving you up the wall for the second day in a row. Enjoy!

2. Oh, and add Ursuline, St. Mark’s, and Hockaday to that list. And if you were planning on going to the Hockaday Alumae in the Arts: The Art of Diplomacy symposium, well, that’s closed too.

3. Hopefully tomorrow won’t be further ruined by power outages, but just in case your lights flicker out, remember that 911 is for emergencies and Oncor (888-313-4747) is for electricity.

As for the intrepid journalists of Park Cities People, some of us will make the long, slick journey to the D Empire HQ. Pray for us?

UPDATE: Steve Mace sends word that University Park’s night court has been canceled for tonight. Looks like Bull will get the evening off. Additionally, it’s time to put a few logs on the fire. If you haven’t already had the lights go out, well, expect them to considering the our energy overlords, ERCOT, have ordered rolling blackouts throughout the state.

According to a quick note from HP Crime Watch, the Town Hall and library are both open, so turn off the TV (there’s nothing on, anyway) and cuddle up next to the fire with a good book.

UPDATE NO. 2: If you were planning on getting a bowl of soup or a salad at Whole Foods in Highland Park today, you’re out of luck. The store had to close at about 1:30 because of blackouts. If you can wait, Whole Foods will reopen at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
