Don’t Drive Through Construction Sites in HP

|

A note from HPDPS today:

There are several blocks in HP that have “ROAD CLOSED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION” and “NO THRU TRAFFIC” signs.

These blocks are ONLY open to residents who live on streets where work is being conducted.

HPDPS Officers are writing citations, which start at $198.00 and escalate to $298.00 and are considered a hazardous, moving violation that gets reported on your driving record. The higher fee is charged when workers are present.

The amounts listed above are per ticket fines, so if you bypass signage at 4500 and 4600 blocks of Beverly Drive during work day hours, you could face fines totally $596.00, however most HPDPS officers may only write one ticket.

I actually considered driving through the Beverly construction zone yesterday afternoon, so this email came at the right time. I ain’t got 200 bones lying around.
