Snider Plaza Shell Station May Expand

|

But not for the reason you may expect.

It’s not to accomodate the roving packs of Rovers with additional pumping stations, but rather the thirsts of those drivers. When they get home, at least.

Marino’s Service Station is requesting a 640-square-foot addition to its convenience store to add a beer and wine section, a request that would more than double the size of the store. The City Council will take it up tonight.

The Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved the project, but it could come up against more debate tonight. Mayor Dick Davis was an ardent opponent of beer and wine sales when it came to voters two years ago, opposing the measure vocally and financially. We’ll see if any of that returns tonight, at 5 p.m.
