I attended last Friday’s Park Cities Rotary Club meeting, which featured the four candidates for Texas House District 108. One of the men at my table said, “I don’t know if I live in this district.” The man next to him chuckled and said, “Believe me, if you did, you’d know it every time you checked your mailbox.”
Chart Westcott and Morgan Meyer are sending out mailer after mailer; I have seven from the former on my desk and six from the latter. (Only one from the race’s third Republican, Court Alley, has found its way to me.) When you’re distributing so much literature, you’re liable to miss a typo here or there.
But misspelling the last name of Ronald Reagan? As my colleague Todd Jorgenson put it, “To a Republican, that’s second to misspelling ‘God.’”
