During last night’s oh-so-packed meeting regarding the DISD home-rule initiative, City Councilwoman Jennifer Staubach Gates worked in two plugs for Saturday’s celebrations of the Preston Royal Library‘s 50th birthday. A reception is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., and children’s activities are set to begin at 2. If activist Carlos Quintanilla shows up at the library again on Saturday to shout, “We’re going to make this hard for you,” no one will be more shocked than I.
