Joe Torre has traded in his baseball uniform for a business suit these days, but the Hall of Fame catcher and manager will share plenty of stories from his career on the diamond during a conversation at the Texas Trailblazer Awards luncheon on Wednesday at the Hilton Anatole.
The sold-out luncheon will benefit The Family Place, which is a cause close to Torre’s heart. He and his wife founded the Safe at Home Foundation, which operates several domestic violence resource centers around New York City.
The luncheon festivities included a letter-signing ceremony this spring at the Highland Park home of Margaret Hancock. Luncheon chairs are Travis and Stephanie Hollman, Carol Seay, and Stephanie Seay.
