It’s a Silver Medal, But We’ll Take It

Suburban Newspapers of America just announced the winners of its Newspaper of the Year contest. Preston Hollow People finished second in Class B (non-dailies with circulation between 10,001 and 22,500). The winner was The Enterprise of Lexington Park, Md. Here are the judges’ comments on our entry:

Concise and informative heds and deks. Appropriate editorial tone reflected in a variety of content. Clear delineation between ads and content. Ads are colorful and attractive and are appropriate to what else is on the page. Some elements of consistent design, but not afraid to experiment. Excellent use of photography throughout stories.

Also this week, SNA announced the winners of its Advertising & Promotions contest. We won in two categories; our special section on Ebby Halliday’s 100th birthday was named the Best New Special Advertising Section and our Real Estate Quarterly was named the Best Homes Publication or Homes Special Section.
