Amy Chua, author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, ignited plenty of controversy in 2011 with parenting advice that included not allowing her children to have play dates or choose their own extracurricular activities. But, it’s hard to argue with the success she’s had in raising her two daughters. The eldest was accepted to Harvard and Yale.
If you’d like to pick Chua’s brain, head to Highland Park United Methodist Church tonight for the latest installment of the Authors Live series. The 6 p.m. meet-and-greet with Chua requires a reservation and runs a $30 price-tag (which includes a copy of her book). Chua’s 7 p.m. presentation in Wesley Hall, however, is free and open to the public. For more information, call 214-523-224
