The SPCA of Texas has received a grant in the amount of $50,000 from Communities Foundation of Texas to help support the organization’s SPCA of Texas: Community Pet Wellness & Support program, which empowers families in under-resourced communities to keep their pets healthy and safe, even in times of crisis.
“We are delighted to receive this generous 2025 Animals Grant to support our efforts to provide pet wellness visits, spay/neuter surgeries, and to expand access to other essential services for under resourced communities in North Texas,” said SPCA of Texas President & CEO Chris Luna, JD. “The Communities Foundation of Texas’ investment will support our Community Pet Wellness & Support Program, ensuring more pets stay healthy and with the people who love them — especially in historically underserved areas like West Dallas and Southern Dallas.
The Community Pet Wellness & Support program directly supports responsible pet ownership by reducing barriers to care, preventing unnecessary pet surrenders, and decreasing the number of stray animals through proactive veterinary services.
“Our goals are to improve quality of life for both pets and people, and to help make Dallas a safer, healthier community.”
