Equest is galloping into spring with a “Run for the Roses” themed Blue Ribbon Gala on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 6 to 11 p.m. at Gilley’s Dallas.

Equest aims to change lives through the human-horse connection. It provides equine facilitated activities, therapies, and counseling to children and adults with physical, cognitive, sensory, coping, and learning disabilities, and veterans with adjustment challenges.

Tables of 10 and underwriting opportunities are available at the 45th annual gala starting at $5,000. Sponsorships are also available. Individual tickets will be available closer to the event date. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.equest.org/gala or contact Angela Escamilla at [email protected] or (972) 412-1099 ext. 209.

The “Run for the Roses” theme gives a nod to the Kentucky Derby’s iconic tradition of crowning its champion horse with a lush garland of over 400 red roses. Inspired by the Southern elegance and excitement of the Kentucky Derby, the event will include gourmet fare and cocktails, live and silent auctions, an awards presentation, and a performance from Jordan Kahn’s Manhattan Orchestra.

Dallas philanthropists and community leaders Melinda and Mark Knowles are this year’s gala chairs. They will be joined by Honorary Chair Lynn McBee, whose civic leadership and advocacy have shaped the philanthropic landscape of Dallas.

Returning is celebrity event designer Steve Kemble and emcee Calvert Collins-Bratton, to create a spirited and captivating atmosphere that celebrates Equest’s work helping uplift lives through the transformative power of horses.

The event is chaired by Bonner Allen (Reservations), Maggie Cooke Kipp and Nancy Gopez (Auction), Nancy Carlson, Alison Malone and Stacey Walker (Underwriting), and Amy Turner (Patron Party Chair).

“As we celebrate 45 years of Equest, we’re not just looking back — we’re galloping forward,” said Eric Lindh, CEO of Equest. “Our therapy horses are the heart of what we do, while it’s the people — our supporters, volunteers, and community — who make the impact possible. The Blue Ribbon Gala is our favorite night of the year to celebrate that joy, generosity, and impact, all under one roof.”

This year’s event will recognize Leslie and Hawkins Golden with the esteemed Founder’s Award for their tireless commitment to Equest. For her dedication to excellence, Carol Huckin will be honored with the distinguished Citation Award.
