Kershaw Pitches Inning in All-Star Game

|

Former Highland Park standout Clayton Kershaw pitched one scoreless inning in last night’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game, helping the National League beat the American League, 5-1, and claim home-field advantage in the World Series.

Kershaw, who was making his first All-Star appearance, needed just eight pitches to get three outs in the fifth inning. He struck out Boston’s David Ortiz and also got New York’s Robinson Cano and Detroit’s Alex Avila to ground out.

Despite the struggles of his team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kershaw is having a stellar season with a 9-4 record, a 3.03 ERA, and 147 strikeouts. Kershaw is scheduled to start tomorrow night at Arizona.
