I’ve often said that Preston Hollow resident Kevin Sherrington is the best sports columnist in this town. As it turns out, he’s the best one in the state. So say the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors, who gave Sherrington top honors in the Sports Column Writing category yesterday at their annual awards presentation. This was the Morning News columnist’s second straight victory. Second place went to Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle. Coming in third was the San Antonio Express-News’ Buck Harvey, who should get a special award for having the best name for a sports columnist.
