The Highland Park girls remained unbeaten by earning three wins in three days at the Governor’s Cup tournament over the weekend in Georgetown.
The Lady Scots topped The Woodlands 4-3, Georgetown 3-0, and Hutto 7-1. They are averaging more than four goals per game so far this season. Parker Hart scored four goals during the tournament, including a hat trick against Hutto, while Hattie Patterson added three for HP.
The Lady Scots (6-0-1) will return home to face Richardson Pearce on Tuesday in its final test prior to the start of District 13-5A play on Jan. 25 at Forney.
In boys action, HP split its three games at a tournament at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. The Scots topped Cleburne 2-0, fell to Mount Pleasant 4-2, and played a scoreless draw against Prosper Rock Hill.
Jake Whitehurst scored twice for HP (4-2-1), which will have a week off prior to the District 13-5A opener on Jan. 25 against Forney at Highlander Stadium.
