SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: LOOK OUT BEHIND!

Reported at 5:54 p.m. on July 1: A reckless reverser attempted to back into a driveway in the alley behind the 3100 block of Mockingbird Lane and hit a gas meter, causing a significant leak.

UNIVERSITY PARK

1 Tuesday

The owner of a Land Rover both reported a missing license plate, and found a license plate at about 2:39 p.m. on Amherst Avenue.

3 Thursday

Reported at 7:56 a.m.: A burglar targeted a 2023 Lexus RX on Purdue Street.

Reported at 8:45 a.m.: A scoundrel entered two Ford F-150s on Southwestern Boulevard without their owner’s permission.

Reported at 4:32 p.m.: Harassment of a family in the 3400 block of Amherst Avenue.

4 Friday

Officers investigated a suspicious call and arrested a 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old man for public intoxication at about 3:14 a.m. on Mockingbird Lane.

A criminal cruiser stole a 2024 Cadillac Escalade from The Plaza at Preston Center at about 2:15 p.m.

5 Saturday

Officers made a traffic stop and arrested a 63-year-old woman for driving while intoxicated at about 12:23 a.m. on University Boulevard.

Items were reported missing from a 2022 Hyundai Accent at about 4:22 p.m. on Northwest Parkway.

6 Sunday

A 21-year-old woman was cited for theft from CVS on Preston Road at about 6:43 p.m.

HIGHLAND PARK

2 Wednesday

Officers made an arrest for driving while intoxicated at about 8:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Cornell Avenue.

3 Thursday

A 50-year-old man was arrested for assault of a family member at about 9:16 a.m. in the 3700 block of Armstrong Parkway.

A thief broke into a Toyota FJ Cruiser in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive before 12:25 p.m. and withdrew $500 from the center console that the car’s owner had just withdrawn from Chase Bank.

Reported at 3:01 p.m.: A resident of the 4500 block of Belclaire Avenue opened her mail to find that she owed $2,061.94 on a Home Depot Credit Card that had been fraudulently opened in her name.

Reported at 4:43 a.m.: A Mercedes-Benz sedan was found with a damaged sideview mirror in the 3300 block of St Johns Drive.
