Principal Debbie Burt was on hand as were fellow teachers and staff to welcome students to Hyer Elementary School during the first official day of classes of the new school year.
Students at all Highland Park ISD schools were greeted by signs, balloons, and celebration the morning of Aug. 13.
Seniors at Highland Park High School started the year with a Last First Day breakfast on the school’s lawn before taking a class photo on the steps and heading inside for their first class.
