Preston Hollow investor Tom Dundon expanded his sports portfolio this week by leading a group in purchasing the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers.
According to reports, Dundon bought the team for more than $4 billion from the estate of Paul Allen, the Microsoft co-founder who died in 2018. He intends to keep the team based in Portland, Oregon.
Dundon, an SMU alumnus, is the sole owner and CEO of the Carolina Hurricanes hockey franchise and has also invested heavily in the growth of pickleball and other ventures through his Dundon Capital Partners firm.
