Ursuline finished second and Highland Park was third in the girls team standings at the 40th annual Greenhill 6-Mile Relay on Saturday at Norbuck Park.
The Bears crossed the finish line just four seconds behind champion Prosper. Ursuline’s quartet of Presley Andras, Anna Mathison, Ellie Tusa, and Jenna Priest recorded a time of 37 minutes, 7 seconds
The defending champion Lady Scots were right behind with a team consisting of Paisley Bassett, Finley Heckler, Presley Pate, and Stella Pruett. The event is contested on a unique cross country course that include hay-bale hurdles, with scores compiled as runners complete each 1.5-mile segment.
In the boys race, Jesuit Dallas posted a fifth-place showing in 31:30 with a team including Oscar Gooden, Brayden Higginbotham, Maddux Click, and Ethan Irrobali.
Covenant came in third in the 4A-under boys division. Athletes for the Knights were Noah Verdin, Cade Shepelwich, Caden Jolly, and Gibson Walker.
As the host school, Greenhill was ninth in the boys race and fourth in the girls event. The female quartet for the Hornets consisted of Lillie Williams, Ruby Garza, Sophia Kucher, and Alexis Chen.
