Highland Park is back on its feet. Jesuit is eager to say the same about its own season.
It took a little longer than the Scots expected to get their first victory. It didn’t happen the first week of the season, and in Week 2, they had to wait a few extra hours because of weather delays.
Finally, when the ball kicked off at Lucas Lovejoy last week, the Scots rolled to a 21-0 lead – plenty of cushion before a second weather delay motivated game officials to call the game official in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Dallas Jesuit – the Scots’ opponent on Friday night at Highlander Stadium – can sympathize with not being able to play a full game. The Rangers’ game against New Orleans Jesuit also went only two quarters, ending in a 31-6 decision that dropped them to 0-2.
So both teams will be itching for 60 minutes of action at 7 p.m.
Highland Park (1-1) has momentum from its victory, which included a 99-yard scoring drive. Cannon Bozman had two touchdown catches, going for more than 100 yards for the second time in two games.
