SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: ’TIS THE SEASON
The holidays were for taking, not giving, for greedy thieves in the Park Cities. At least 30 attempted and completed thefts and burglaries were reported this week.
UNIVERSITY PARK
15 Monday
Criminal trespassing was reported at 8:32 a.m. on Mockingbird Lane.
Reported at 6:13 p.m.: A porch pirate stole a package from a home on Milton Avenue.
16 Tuesday
A mischief maker caused trouble to a 2022 Ram TRX on Amherst Avenue at about 1:09 a.m.
Reported at 4:02 a.m.: A thief stole a 2019 Ford Explorer from a driveway on Hanover Street.
Reported at 4:29 a.m.: A 2020 GMC Sierra was stolen on Hanover Street.
Reported at 7:21 a.m.: A 2019 Ford was burglarized on Marquette Street.
Reported at 12:27 p.m.: A package pilferer stole a delivery to a home on Stanford Avenue.

Reported at 3:19 a.m.: Entering a 2024 Toyota Tundra on Bryn Mawr Drive wasn’t an uphill struggle for a burglar. The car was left unlocked.
Reported at 3:55 a.m.: A burglar was on easy street on Bryn Mawr Drive. Two more unlocked vehicles were unlawfully entered.
Reported at 5:08 a.m.: A thief stole property worth between $100 and $750 in the 3500 block of Stanford Avenue.
Theft of property worth between $750 and $2,500 was reported at Firestone on Lovers Lane at 8:52 a.m.
Reported at 12:05 p.m.: A thief went shopping for a porch package on Stanford Avenue.
Reported at 12:47 p.m.: A thief got a package deal when they stole deliveries from a porch on Purdue Street.

Reported at 4:34 a.m.: A thief stole a 2022 Dodge Ram truck from Southwestern Boulevard.

Reported at 3:05 p.m.: A license plate looter stole a plate on Greenbrier Drive.
Reported at 10:06 p.m.: A troublemaker damaged the window of a 2015 Toyota Camry on Bryn Mawr Drive.
20 Saturday
Reported at 12:29 a.m.: A thief burglarized a 2024 GMC Sierra in the 4200 block of Shenandoah Avenue.
A thief didn’t steal anything from a locked 2021 GMC Sierra on Greenbrier Drive, but damaged the vehicle’s door lock at about 1 a.m.
An officer investigated the possible burglary of a 2025 GMC Sierra on Purdue Street at about 4:22 a.m.
Reported at 4:35 a.m.: A burglar forced their way into a locked 2020 Ford F-150 on Bryn Mawr Drive.
Reported at 4:38 a.m.: A no-good-doer damaged a 2022 Dodge Ram truck on Southwestern Boulevard.
Reported at 4:45 a.m.: A criminal cruiser stole a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Purdue Street.

A thief stole between $100 and $750 in property from CVS on Mockingbird Lane at about 3:39 p.m.
HIGHLAND PARK
15 Monday
A large branch collided with a Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz SUV after the branch was hit by a box truck before 10:40 a.m. in the 4500 block of Westway Avenue.
16 Tuesday
Thieves appeared to cut out the passenger side window of a 2019 Dodge Challenger and stole the vehicle before 2:35 a.m. from in front of a home in the 4300 block of Livingston Avenue.
17 Wednesday
Thieves who stole a Glock 43X pistol from the center console of a GMC Sierra in the 4300 block of Potomac Avenue at about 3:38 a.m. fled after the car’s owner pointed another firearm with a weapon mounted light at them.
Reported at 10:19 a.m.: A porch pirate stole two packages containing a folding stool and mesh zip bags from a porch in the 4300 block of Belclaire Avenue.
19 Friday
The delinquent driver of an SUV kept going after hitting the driver’s side mirror of a Ram 1500 parked in the 4400 block of St Johns Drive at about 10:50 p.m.
20 Saturday
A burglar activated the car alarm of a Mercedes-Benz parked in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue while breaking into the vehicle before 2:10 p.m., but left without stealing anything.
