Highland Park started the girls soccer season with an undefeated weekend in three games at the Governor’s Cup tournament in Georgetown over the weekend.
After a scoreless draw against Round Rock in the tournament opener, the Lady Scots (2-0-1) subdued Boerne 2-0 behind goals from Maggie Deskin and Adeline Jacobs.
HP wrapped up tournament play with a 4-2 victory over The Woodlands on Saturday. Freshman defender Kinleigh Henning scored twice for the Lady Scots, while Whitney Gross and Londy Hutchinson also got on the score sheet.
In boys action, HP struggled in its opening tournament in Allen, failing to score in any of its three games, including losses to Allen and Sachse, and a draw with Frisco Independence.
