IKEA To Open At Shops at Park Lane Soon

The popular Swedish furniture retailer also known for serving up meatballs, has an opening date for its store planned at the Shops at Park Lane.

IKEA, the popular Swedish furniture retailer also known for serving up meatballs, has an opening date for its store planned at the Shops at Park Lane.

IKEA Dallas – University Park will open to customers at 10 a.m.March 11. The new store is two levels and spans 63,000 square feet.

Shoppers will be able to browse an array of more than 3,200 products or pick up a snack, including the Swedish meatballs, plant balls, hot dogs, and veggie dogs.

“We’re excited to celebrate the grand opening of IKEA Dallas – University Park and share the IKEA experience with members of the Dallas community,” said IKEA U.S. Market Manager Ben Sandoval. “From finding inspiration for your dream space to enjoying a taste of Sweden, we can’t wait for you to experience the joy of making yourself at home at IKEA Dallas – University Park.”

The store at the Shops at Park Lane will be the eighth IKEA store in Texas.

“This new store is a great example of our commitment to making IKEA even more convenient and accessible. We’re excited to become part of this vibrant shopping district and look forward to meeting the needs of customers in the area,” said Rob Olson, Interim CEO of IKEA U.S.

Other new spots at the Shops at Park Lane include Cream & Crepe Cafe, Connect Studio and Intuit TurboTax, according to the shopping center’s website.

“As one of the largest global retail brands, IKEA will be a gamechanger for our project, and we feel fortunate that IKEA chose The Shops at Park Lane to plant its flag in core Dallas,” said Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail, who own and operate the Shops at Park Lane. “This new location plays into the larger growth story happening now in Dallas and fits perfectly with our proximity to SMU, The Village Dallas, and Uptown, rounding out other additive, new center openings like Turbo Tax, Crème + Crepe, and Connect Studio DFW.”
