Highland Park’s girls basketball team kicked off the Class 5A Division I playoffs Monday when they squared off against Frisco Heritage at 7 p.m. in Allen.
The Lady Scots finished the regular season with a 22-11 mark and placed third in District 12-5A at 10-4, while Frisco Heritage (23-13, 12-2) finished second in 11-5A.
HP enters the playoffs having won two of its past three games, though it was defeated in the 12-5A finale by Frisco Reedy, 41-40, after the Lady Scots were leading at halftime, 28-14.
HP and Heritage did not meet during the regular season, however the Lady Scots did defeat a Frisco Memorial team the Lady Coyotes lost to twice in 11-5A action.
HP is coming off a 2025 season in which it reached the regional finals.
Monday’s victor will take on the winner between Prosper Walnut Grove and Lufkin at a time and place to be determined.
