The Turtle Creek Association (TCA), in partnership with the Turtle Creek Conservancy (TCC) and the City of Dallas, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 21 at Oak Lawn Park to mark the completion of the Bridges of Turtle Creek renovation project.

According to the Turtle Creek Association, the project restored eight historic bridges along the Turtle Creek corridor and was funded entirely through private philanthropy.

The restored bridges include Bowen Street (1916), Hall Street (1908), Lemmon Avenue (circa 1930 and 1963), Stonebridge Drive (1936), Blackburn Avenue (1930), Fairmount Street (1918), and Maple Avenue (1919).

Improvements included lighting upgrades, restoration of historic features, graffiti removal, retaining wall repairs, fencing updates, and pedestrian safety enhancements.

In a written statement, Turtle Creek Conservancy president and CEO Tiffany Divis said the project “improves the overall quality of life for residents and visitors by providing safer, more beautiful, and engaging routes for pedestrians and cyclists.”
