Red, white and blue will take over the Northaven Trail as thousands of American flags return for the Fourth of July.

Since 2023, volunteers with Friends of Northaven Trail have transformed the trail’s entire 9-mile corridor into a patriotic display by placing thousands of American flags along the route. The display will feature approximately 4,000 American flags.

The community is invited to help make it happen. Volunteers can assist with placing flags before the holiday, picking them up and storing them afterward, serving as section captains, or supporting sponsorship efforts.

No experience is necessary, and families, Scout groups, neighborhood organizations, businesses, and individuals are all encouraged to participate.

Volunteers can sign up by visiting Northaven Trail’s website.
