The Dallas Public Library invites the community to celebrate National Hobbit Day with a fun and family-friendly event inspired by the world of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Guests can enjoy a costume contest, Lord of the Rings-themed crafts, and other Middle-earth-inspired activities at the Preston Royal branch on Saturday, Sept. 20, 1 – 3 p.m.
Costumes are encouraged but not required. Those who wish to participate in the costume contest should come dressed as a character from Tolkien’s Middle-earth — such as a hobbit, elf, dwarf, or human. All costumes must be appropriate for all ages.
The event is free and open to all. Fans of all ages are welcome to join in the celebration. Winners will be awarded prizes.
