On Thursday, June 25, Preserve Preston Hollow supporters will travel together to Dallas City Hall to attend a hearing for a proposed zoning change for the proposed mixed-use development at the southwest quadrant of Preston Road and Royal Lane.

In a public statement distributed through email and social media, Preserve Preston Hollow said it is offering van rides, carpooling, and caravanning options to residents.

The group’s reported departure time is scheduled for 9 a.m. from the south parking lot of Northaven United Methodist Church, and transportation includes a 15-passenger van, a 7-passenger SUV, the option to join the caravan in an individual vehicle, and the option to carpool with fellow supporters, said organizers in the email.

Volunteer van drivers include Preston Hollow residents Richard Cox and Dan Hursin.

According to Preserve Preston Hollow’s announcement, van seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats can be reserved by emailing [email protected].

The group also indicated it would be ordering 100 black T-shirts featuring their yard-sign logo “to create a strong visual presence at City Hall.” T-shirts will be available at the caravan departure location and upon arrival at City Hall, while shirts last, in sizes medium and XL. The suggested donation for a T-shirt is $10.

To speak at the hearing, the group has indicated pre-registration is required through the City of Dallas by calling 214-670-4209, or by completing an online speaker registration form through the Dallas City Plan Commission’s website.
