A limited time exhibit at the George W. Bush Presidential Museum will feature original, handwritten documents from George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, and more.
The Up Close With History: Founding Fathers Edition exhibit will run from Sept. 23-27.
The artifacts that will be featured in the exhibit, courtesy of the Harlan Crow Library, include a handwritten letter from George Washington to Col. John Cadwalader during the Revolutionary War, a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Marquis de Lafayette, a letter from Alexander Hamilton to Samuel Hodgdon that was written during the Whiskey Rebellion, a letter from James Madison to agents of the United States calling for the relief and protection of American seamen, a 1785 portrait of George Washington by Robert Edge Pine, and an early 19th century portrait of Dolley Madison by William Dunlap.
The room where it happens, so to speak, where the artifacts will be displayed is the Cabinet Room in the George W. Bush Presidential Museum. Access is included with museum admission.
