If you’re a Charter cable customer and you have not acquired a set-top box, you have less than two weeks to take action. Otherwise, you won’t be able to watch TV.
On June 11, Charter will remove the analog signals from its network in the Park Cities in favor of an all-digital system. A television without a set-top box will not be able to receive digital signals.
“If you don’t take action, you could wake up the morning of the switchover and not be able to see the programming you’re used to,” Charter spokesman Brian Anderson said. “We don’t want that to happen, so we are encouraging our customers to take advantage of our free set-top box offers and make sure all of their televisions are ready for the move to an all-digital network.”
Subscribers can order set-top boxes by calling 888-438-2427 or visiting the Charter office in Snider Plaza. Anderson said the boxes are free, initially; the length of that initial period depends on the customer’s subscription package.
The Park Cities is the last of Charter’s North Texas markets to go all-digital. The $40 million upgrade began in April with customers in Weatherford and Cleburne, Anderson said.

As part of the upgrade, Charter subscribers will have access to 91 new high-definition channels — including the Longhorn Network, bringing the total to 141 — and about 12,000 video-on-demand titles, or 20 percent more than they have now.
