
SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: SQUEAKY CLEAN THIEVES?
Reported at 2:37 p.m. on Sept. 10: A cleaning company may have cleaned up while tidying a home in the 3100 block of Cornell Avenue in April. After a move, the home’s owner noticed missing items worth more than $20,000: a Rolex Datejust watch, a Cartier Tank Francaise watch, and an Italian ruby ring.

A man was arrested for assault causing injury to a family member at about 8:19 p.m. in the 4500 block of San Carlos Drive.

A man was arrested for carrying a weapon without a license, evading arrest, possessing a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, and on a warrant at about 3:53 p.m. after a traffic stop on Southwestern Boulevard.
A man was arrested for assault causing injury to a family member at about 11:46 p.m. on Wentwood Drive.

A burglar broke the windows of two trucks in the 4400 block of Lakeside Drive at about 2:04 p.m. and went fishing for valuables, catching a Husky tool bag filled with various hand tools.
A 32-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant at about 5:22 p.m. in the 4500 block of Roland Avenue.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on a warrant at about 7:26 p.m. in the 4400 block of Douglas Avenue.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and being a minor in possession of alcohol at about 3:01 a.m. in the 6000 block of Preston Road.
Reported at 8:29 a.m.: A derelict driver damaged a 2022 BMW 430i in the 4300 block of Edmondson Drive on Sept. 5 or Sept. 6, but did not leave information.

Reported at 10:20 a.m.: A burglar had easy pickings from an unlocked 2022 Lexus SUV in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive on Sept. 5. He stole a briefcase containing a laptop, ID, and Apple Airpods. But why did he bother? The items’ owner later found his discarded property elsewhere in Highland Park.
A greedy thief stole a woman’s Hermes wallet, debit and credit cards, driver’s license and Porsche key fob at about 8:35 p.m. while she was dining in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant at about 7:57 a.m. near the intersection of Lomo Alto Drive and Livingston Avenue.

A 28-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at about 2:16 a.m. near the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and High School Avenue.
