SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: DEVIL’S FOOD DEVIANT

An unholy thief left a paper sack containing a half-eaten donut on a porch in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue at about 3:52 p.m. on Oct. 15, then stole packages containing a vase and dog bowls.

UNIVERSITY PARK

13 Monday

Reported at 10:03 a.m. on Oct. 13: A thief got off on the wrong foot at a store in Snider Plaza when she stole a pair of shoes.

14 Tuesday

Reported at 9:39 p.m.: A brazen burglar broke into a vehicle on Pickwick Lane and stole items inside it.

15 Wednesday

A brazen burglar stole an item from a 2017 GMC Yukon on University Boulevard before 8:30 a.m.

Reported at 8:45 a.m.: A thief caused double trouble when they burglarized two vehicles, a Lincoln Navigator, and Cadillac Escalade, and stole items from a garage on McFarlin Boulevard.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested for manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, bringing or intending to bring a prohibited item into a correctional facility, theft, and on a warrant at about 9:01 p.m. at CVS on Preston Road.

Reported at 4:48 a.m.: A thief stole items at a CVS on Mockingbird Lane.

HIGHLAND PARK

13 Monday

A 24-year-old man was arrested on a warrant at about 3:11 a.m. in the 5300 block of E. Mockingbird Lane.

Reported at 10:18 a.m.: A delinquent driver damaged the rear bumper of a Mercedes-Benz in Highland Park Village, then drove off without leaving information.

14 Tuesday

A porch pirate stole packages containing two pairs of jeans, a belt, and household items from a home in the 4500 block of Westway Avenue before 2:30 a.m.

Telltale thieves were caught in the act of breaking into a Land Rover Defender in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue at about 6:45 p.m. They fled without stealing anything when an onlooker started taking photos.

15 Wednesday

A shady thief stole a pair of Costa sunglasses from a locked Ford F-250 in the 4500 block of Westside Drive before 8:37 a.m.

A 40-year-old man was arrested at about 10:41 a.m. in the 4600 block of Lakeside Drive.

A reckless roadster did not leave information after hitting a Honda Accord parked in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane before 6:20 p.m.

16 Thursday

A 29-year-old man was arrested on multiple warrants at about 8:05 p.m. in the 4600 block of Abbott Avenue.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest at about 9:57 p.m. in Highland Park Village.

18 Saturday
