SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: GUNS GONE MISSING

Reported at 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 11: The owner of a Ford pickup discovered that two firearms had been taken from his truck after an acquaintance found another item he keeps in the truck near the intersection of St Johns Drive and Byron Avenue. The gun owner believed, but was not certain, that the vehicle had been locked.

Reported at 10:54 a.m.: A pedaling pilferer stole an e-bike from a home on Rosedale Avenue.
Reported at 11:22 a.m.: A remote was stolen from a store on Preston Road.
Reported at 8:54 p.m.: A thief-in-the-night burglarized a 2021 Toyota 4Runner on Centenary Drive.

A 40-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated with an open alcohol container at about 6:08 p.m. on Daniel Avenue.

Reported at 12:09 a.m. on Wentwood Drive: A craven caller harassed a resident or committed fraud by telephone.
Reported at 12:21 p.m.: A thief burglarized a 2016 Land Rover on Hillcrest Avenue.
11 Saturday

Reported at 8:26 a.m.: While on patrol, an observant University Park officer noticed that a back window of a 2021 Infiniti QX80 on Greenbrier Drive was broken, and the car had been burglarized.
Reported at 1 p.m.: A mischief maker vandalized a 2017 Chevy in the 4400 block of San Carlos Drive.

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the intersection of Knox Street and Travis Street on multiple warrants at 11:55 a.m.
7 Tuesday
Reported at 7:25 p.m.: A resident of the 4600 block of Edmondson Avenue received text messages from individuals who threatened to harm him and his family.
8 Wednesday
An 18-year-old man was arrested in the 5500 block of Preston Road at about 12:24 a.m. for being publicly intoxicated while under the legal drinking age.
Officers arrested a 27-year-old man for interfering with an emergency call, evading arrest, and on a warrant at 8:37 a.m. in the 5700 block of Mt Vernon Avenue.
A crafty thief stole tools and a Kimber firearm with a full magazine of self-defense rounds out of a Dodge Ram truck parked in the 4300 block of Lakeside Drive before 4:30 p.m.
9 Thursday
How easy was it for a thief to steal car and house keys, as well as a wallet, from a 2013 Ford Edge in the 4500 block of Fairfax Avenue before 12:55 p.m.? The car was left unlocked.
10 Friday
A 25-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication at about 12:19 a.m. in the 4100 block of Beverly Drive.
11 Saturday

A brazen burglar shattered the window of Mercedes-Benz in the 4500 block of Beverly Drive and stole a Chanel purse before 1:20 p.m., then tried to use one of the debit cards inside the purse to go shopping at Walgreens.
A 46-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated with an open alcohol container at 11:16 p.m. in the 3500 block of Normandy Avenue.
