SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: WHAT STOP SIGNS?
Reported at 1:33 a.m. on Nov. 10: The driver of a Honda Civic sailed through four stop signs on Abbott Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue, failed to stop for the flashing lights and siren of a police vehicle, and ran yet another stop sign at the intersection of Monticello Avenue and McKinney Avenue before speeding onto U.S. 75.

Reported at 8:35 p.m.: While a customer was dining in Barsotti’s in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue, a thief picked up take out in the parking lot — they broke into the customer’s Jeep Grand Cherokee and drove off.

An unfaithful interloper stole a gem and diamond engagement ring worth about $50,000 from the center console of an unlocked Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon parked in a driveway in the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue before 7:30 a.m.
Reported at 9:30 p.m.: While a customer was dining at Mediterranean restaurant Sachet in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue, a burglar went fishing for valuables in the center console and glovebox of his BMW 840i and stole a key ring with four keys.
A brazen burglar shattered the window of a Cadillac Escalade parked in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive and stole a Johnson and Murphy backpack, MacBook Pro, and Sony camera with a 70-200 mm lens attachment,

A two-wheeler thief stole a Cannondale Quick Carbon 1 bike before 8 a.m. from a detached garage in the 4400 block of Westway Avenue.
A derelict driver delivered some damage to a Cadillac Escalade when they scraped it in the 5700 block of Mt Vernon Avenue at about 3:25 p.m., but did not stop to leave behind information.
Reported at 8:56 p.m.: A criminal cruiser rear-ended a Toyota RAV4 at a stop light at the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and Mockingbird Lane, before flying off down Mockingbird Lane.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication in the 4300 block of Livingston Avenue at about 2:12 p.m.
