Thieves, burglars, and plenty of intoxicated operators were on the loose in the Park Cities in this week's Crime Reports.

SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: SHORT GETAWAY

An irresponsible operator drove off after she hit a Mercury Mountaineer while attempting to park in Highland Park Village at about 2 p.m. on Nov. 23. But she didn’t go far. Officers located her damaged Ford F-150 in the same parking lot, although in a different space outside Bird Bakery.

UNIVERSITY PARK

17 Monday

A destructive thief stole materials before 12:37 p.m. from a construction site on Bryn Mawr Drive.

Reported at 6 p.m.: A brazen burglar broke into a locked Land Rover Defender on Lomo Alto Drive and stole items.

18 Tuesday

A burglar struck Luxe Retail & Lending on Lovers Lane at about 4:44 a.m.

19 Wednesday

Reported at 12:45 p.m.: A short-sighted thief stole items worth between $750 and $2,500 from Goo Goo Eyes on Lovers Lane.

A 57-year-old woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated at about 7:15 p.m. after a hit and run accident in the 3500 block of University Boulevard.

20 Thursday

Reported at 7:17 a.m.: A burglary at a the Turley Law Center office building on N. Central Expressway.

A 46-year-old woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant in the University Park Police Department lobby on University Boulevard at about 8:53 a.m.

Reported at 8:04 p.m.: A thief burglarized a 2020 Mercedes-Benz G55 in the 8300 block of Preston Road.

Reported at 9:27 p.m.: A 2021 Tesla was burglarized in The Plaza at Preston Center.

Officers took a call regarding harassment on McFarlin Boulevard at about 12:53 p.m.

Reported at 5:08 p.m.: Theft of property worth between $100 and $750 in the 3600 block of Southwestern Boulevard.

Reported at 6:01 p.m.: A mischief maker broke the window of a GMC Yukon on Purdue Street.

17 Monday

A 37-year-old man was arrested on multiple warrants at 4:50 p.m. in the 4200 block of Bowser Avenue.

18 Tuesday

A burglar stole two bags containing a cornucopia of items from a Nissan Rogue that may have been left unlocked in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue before 8:45 p.m., including a Samsung Galaxy Book Pro laptop, a Microsoft Surface laptop, Apple AirPods, a Fortis Flieger B-42 GMT watch, a MANSCAPED Lawn Mower shaving tool, chargers, a flash drive, toiletries, clothing, a wallet, $150, a passport, and a credit card. The Samsung laptop was recovered. Some other items were found in a stolen vehicle in Oklahoma.

A 38-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 3:03 a.m. in the 4600 block of Mockingbird Lane.

Reported at 8:37 a.m.: A fraudster tricked a resident of the 4600 block of Bordeaux Avenue into depositing $15,000 into a Bitcoin machine at the corner of Maple Avenue and Wycliffe Avenue in Dallas by claiming that he owed a company money.

A 38-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 9:36 a.m. in the 4700 block of Drexel Drive.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at 5:50 p.m. in the 4300 block of Fairfax Avenue.

Officers arrested a 38-year-old man on multiple warrants at 7:04 p.m. in the 5300 block of Douglas Avenue.

A 49-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated at 8:37 p.m. near the intersection of Hillcrest Avenue and St Johns Drive.

22 Saturday

A poor parker tried to pull into a spot next to a BMW in Highland Park Village at about 2:45 p.m., but hit the BMW and drove off without leaving information.
