SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: PURSE PINCHING TRIO
The sneaky thief who cut metal security cables and stole four purses worth $22,450 from Fendi in Highland Park Village before 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 13 may have had help from a man and woman wearing pink and blue tracksuits. The pair posed as demanding customers and distracted employees while the thief snuck out with the items.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on multiple warrants at about 2:20 a.m. in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane.

Three burglars pried open the door of a 2022 GMC Sierra parked outside the store Forget Me Not in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue before 1:15 p.m., but may have forgotten to steal anything. The vehicle’s owner reported that nothing was missing.
Reported at 12:40 p.m.: A stinky scoundrel stole four packages containing perfume and clothing from a porch in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue on Dec. 6 or 7.
A destructive thief didn’t steal anything from a 2026 GMC Sierra parked in the 4200 block of Oak Lawn Avenue before 4:15 p.m., but left the vehicle’s glovebox and storage compartment open, and its horn and security system inoperational.

Reported at 1:05 p.m.: A license plate looter stole the front plate of a 2018 GMC Yukon in the 4400 block of N. Versailles Avenue overnight on Dec. 7.
How easy was it for a thief to steal credit cards and a $20 bill from the center console of a 2021 GMC Yukon in the 4500 block of S. Versailles Avenue before 4:30 p.m.? The car was left unlocked.
A poor parker hit a 2019 Lexus RX 350 in a lot in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane before 7:03 p.m., then drove off without leaving information.
