While in Dallas this week, Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the Bush Institute.
“We admire your country’s bravery and ingenuity,” Former President George W. Bush said. “We want the people of Ukraine to know that we continue to stand with America’s ally, Ukraine. You are fighting for freedom, and I believe you will prevail.”
Zelenska also visited the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum and Dallas’ Central Library, where she took part in the opening of a Ukrainian Bookshelf.
“The presence of a Ukrainian Bookshelf is an opportunity for the world to discover our authors and learn about Ukraine’s history from primary sources,” Zelenska said in a statement.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson said the collection “will promote education and cultural exchange.”
“This wonderful new collection will promote education and cultural exchange between Dallas and our friends in Ukraine,” Johnson wrote in a post on X.

Zelenska also praised the museum.
“The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is one of the leading institutions of its kind in the United States. It not only preserves the memory of the tragedy but also promotes human rights and researches genocides. In particular, it tells the story of the Holodomor in Ukraine and the mass killings at Babyn Yar,” she wrote on X.
