Dallas Independent School District (DISD) will introduce a universal student badge system beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, district officials announced in a news release.
The new badge will serve as a single identification card for students across the district, allowing access to transportation services, meal purchases, library book checkouts, and athletic events.
While students have long been required to carry identification badges on campus, the districtwide system is designed to streamline services, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen campus security, officials said. The standardized badge will provide a consistent experience for students while reducing the need for multiple forms of identification.
Each badge will feature a unified Dallas ISD design while also incorporating individual school mascots and branding elements to maintain each campus’s unique identity.
District leaders said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernize student services and create a more secure and connected school environment.
