The new looks were designed by Nina Toups and Annie Cochran, parent teacher organization apparel chairs, and graphic design chair Allison Ellis. PTO technology chair Kasha Lee helped set up the platform used to sell spirit wear, as well as this website where parents can purchase 2026-27 school supplies and the books students will need in their English Language Arts classes.
Highland Park ISD’s board of trustees voted this spring to change the middle and intermediate schools’ mascot from the Raiders to the Scots after receiving the results of a community survey which overwhelmingly favored the switch.
Board members explained during the meeting that the district would not need to use operational dollars to make the mascot change. The McCulloch Intermediate School/Highland Park Middle School campus was already slated to receive a fresh coat of paint, new mascot graphics, replacement athletic uniforms, and numerous other upgrades through bond funds approved by voters in Nov. 2024.
