Scottie Scheffler attached another major championship to his remarkable resume on Sunday in Northern Ireland.

By winning the Open Championship at Royal Portrush, Scheffler is now just one title — the U.S. Open — away from the coveted Career Grand Slam.

Scheffler dominated over the weekend, pulling away for a four-stroke victory over Harris English. It was his first win on foreign soil since earning the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in France.

As the top-ranked golfer in the world for almost three years, Scheffler’s current run of success is perhaps his best yet.

The former Highland Park standout has won four events this season, including the locally based CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the PGA Championship in May, and each has been by margins of at least four shots.

His other major titles came at the Masters in 2022 and 2024. Scheffler has finished in the top 10 in all but two of the last 12 major championships, including all four this year. Next up will be the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs in August, followed by the Ryder Cup in September in New York.

As if his star isn’t shining brightly enough, Scheffler will make his movie debut with a cameo appearance in the golf comedy Happy Gilmore 2, which will be available Friday on Netflix.
