Thieves are getting smarter. At 11:43 a.m. on January 12 in the parking lot of Fast Frames on Preston Road, a victim’s purse was robbed from a parked vehicle. It took the victim a while to realize she had been robbed, however, because the thief left the purse and stole only the credit cards. No damage had been done to the vehicle, either.

After crashing her Chevrolet Sonic at the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Douglas Avenue, a 38-year-old Dallas woman abandoned the vehicle and took off by foot. Why? She had several alcoholic drinks during pizza with friends, she told police around 9:28 p.m.
