Crime Reports June 10 – 17
The padlock on a truck, parked on June 10 at the 4700 block of Cowper Avenue, couldn't keep a burglar out between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m.. Several items were stolen: a Toro lawnmower ($1,700), a Stihl-brand edger ($750), a Stihl-brand weed eater ($750), and a Stihl-brand trimmer ($850). Adding insult to injury? The padlock was also taken.

Teens in Custody Following Park Cities Carjacking
A juvenile male, who was not identified, was taken to the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center and 18-year-old John Adrian Garcia was taken to Lew Sterrett Dallas County Jail.

A $100 Broker Hyde wallet that likely fell onto the driveway from its owner's pocket when he got home in the the 3600 block of Normandy Avenue at 6:30 p.m. May 21 was discovered missing at 6:30 a.m. the next day.

Crime: May 13 – 19
A resident who left the key fobs in his vehicles overnight at his home in the 4400 block of Lorraine Avenue found his white 2017 Land Rover and white 2015 Cadillac Escapade missing at 6:49 a.m. May 15. OnStar shut down the Cadillac, allowing Dallas police to locate it and arrest the driver. Dallas police also arrested the driver of the Land Rover who crashed the vehicle.

A five-crystal gold necklace was found at 12:21 p.m. in front of Highland Park Town Hall on April 2. The necklace was inventoried and placed in the Highland Park Department of Public Safety evidence locker.

Moosa the dog served mandatory quarantine after biting a man on the hand at 8:14 p.m. outside a home in the 5000 block of Holland Avenue. The man, who was taking his trash out to the curb when bit, took himself to Presbyterian Hospital. Moosa was ordered to stay indoors for 10 days.

Reported in the 3400 block of Milton Avenue at 2:13 p.m. April 9: a bad day for a groomer. A 29-year-old woman was blow-drying a cat, who got scared and bit her.

Talk about getting a head start on your holiday shopping: Sometime between 7:30 a.m. April 1 and 6 p.m. April 2, a home at the 4500 block of Fairway Avenue was broken into and property stolen, including a bag containing a Christmas tree and a box containing Christmas ornaments.

We've heard of "dress for success," but this is ridiculous: After loitering in the store for a few minutes, a man grabbed approximately 24 dress shirts from a table at Jos. A Bank on Oak Lawn Avenue at 4:35 p.m. on March 28 and ran out the front door without paying. He was seen driving off in a dark-colored 2019 Mitsubishi SUV. Each shirt cost $100.
