Crime Reports: March 18 – 24
Reported at 2:48 p.m. March 23: a resident of the 4200 block of Bordeaux Avenue received between March 5 and March 15 bills totaling $245.16 for several magazines he didn't subscribe to including SLAM, Architectural Design, Consumer Designs, Family Handyman, Wired, Wine Enthusiast, and OK! He also received these magazines he didn't order: Motor Trend, Consumer Reports, Sports Illustrated, and Fine Homebuilding.

Crime Reports: March 11 – 17
Good on this employee from Bank of America on Hillcrest Avenue: A customer attempted to open a checking account on March 12, but the employee immediately recognized the customer's information - his drivers license and a debit card - as forged. The employee i called the police, and the customer fled the bank on foot. Police tracked him down, eventually, and took him into custody.

Credit card fraud no doubt ruined the day of a resident at the 3200 block of Beverly Drive on March 7, but one metal-head thief is particularly happy: The card, a Chase Visa, was used at GuitarCenter.com around 8:30 a.m. for two purchases - one for $269.54 and the other for $285.74.

Former UP Tennis Coach Convicted of Molesting Underage Player
A Dallas County jury has convicted Stoyan Anastassov, a former tennis coach who taught private lessons in University Park, of two counts of indecency with a child.

A 67-year-old female is out one piece of jewelry after the person who took her ring to get cleaned - a ring valued at $500 - just never came back.

One person went above and beyond in her quest to steal two bottles of wine from Whole Foods on Lomo Alto Drive: She took the bottles into the bathroom with her, removed the security devices, and then attempted to leave without paying for them.

It was a busy Friday night / Saturday morning for one group of vandals in Highland Park. Starting before midnight and continuing into the wee hours of the morning, the vandals broke the windows of four different vehicles parked along the 4500 and 4600 block of Abbott Avenue.

Everyone needs a good suit, but this is ridiculous: At 7:12 p.m. Jan. 21, a 6-feet-2, 240-pound bald man, described as being between 40 and 50, grabbed 10 blue coats at Jos. A. Bank in the Shops at Highland Park and fled without paying.

A 57-year-old Highland Park woman just can’t escape the ghosts of her old license plates. At 3 p.m. on Jan. 14, she reported that plates stolen off of her vehicle back in October had been recently flagged by police in a different jurisdiction for violating traffic laws.

How bad does your dandruff have to be to steal 28 bottles of Head and Shoulders shampoo? Such a theft occurred at 3:34 p.m. Jan. 7 when a shoplifter left the CVS located at the 3000 block of Mockingbird Lane with $268.52 worth of product.
