HP to Reap $100k From Cell Antennas

|

The Highland Park Town Council approved an increased lease payment for cell antennas on the town’s water tower Monday.

Lessees will now pay $4,166 per month to lease space on the water tower, an increase from the current $2,500 per month. Five companies — AT&T Mobility, Metro PCS, Sprint Spectrum, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless — lease space on the tower.

Leases are subject to a 3 percent annual escalation; the new fees are expected to bring the city an additional $99,960 per year. The first long-term lease agreement for tower space was entered into in October 1996, according to city documents.
