COMMUNITY: SPCA Receives Communities Foundations Grant 

The SPCA of Texas has received a grant in the amount of $50,000 from Communities Foundation of Texas to help support the organization’s SPCA of Texas: Community Pet Wellness & Support program, which empowers families in under-resourced communities to keep their pets healthy and safe, even in times of crisis.

SPORTS: HPISD Parent Challenges Forfeiture of Soccer Title in Court

The game isn’t over for Highland Park ISD’s 2024-25 varsity soccer team. The parent of a player has taken her fight to reinstate HP’s forfeited state championship to district court.

NEWS: Dallas ISD Implements Athletic Event Safety Guidelines

To enhance safety at athletic events, Dallas ISD will require all students attending district-hosted games without a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult to present a current student badge for entry. Guests wearing specific items of clothing will also be denied entrance into games, gymnasiums, and stadiums.

SCHOOLS: Mad for Plaid Campaign Raises $1.8 Million for HPISD

The Highland Park Education Foundation presented a $1.8 million gift to Highland Park ISD during the Aug. 26 school board meeting, marking a continued commitment to supporting teacher and staff salaries districtwide.
