Bubble Lounge Podcast host Martha Jackson, who has made it her mission to spotlight the Park Cities’ people, events and businesses, has been named University Park’s 2025 Citizen of the Year.
Jackson was drawn to University Park more than 20 years ago after a visit to Snider Plaza.
“I just knew when I had kids one day, this is where I wanted to live,” she recalled. She loved the family-friendly feel of the neighborhood, especially the culture of biking to school and the Friday Night Lights.
Jackson and her husband, Sean, moved to University Park shortly after starting their family, which has grown to include Alexis, who is now a junior at the University of Texas, and Blake, a junior at Highland Park High School.
In 2018, Jackson started the Bubble Lounge Podcast with Sean as the producer. Today, they’ve aired more than 300 episodes for a community of over 170,000 listeners.
The Bubble Lounge Podcast showcases relevant and inspiring local stories, from features about moms who run small businesses to outstanding student achievements. One of Jackson’s recent podcasts updated residents on the city’s busy summer of construction projects.

“It really makes me happy that I’m able to have a platform that allows so many different people to shine,” she said.

When Mayor Tommy Stewart called and gave her the news, Jackson could hardly contain her excitement. She immediately told her family so they could celebrate.
After riding in the Park Cities Fourth of July Parade, Jackson will be presented with a plaque during a brief ceremony at the Centennial Park Gazebo.
